Reason number 34 why I shouldn't live alone.

105. 22nd August. I have moved to North Melbourne to house sit for a while. I love North Melbourne. For example, tonight, I went out dancing and was home in under five minutes.

 106. 23rd August. There is a 'new' cafe in North Melbourne Grigons and Orr (it is not actually new, but it is new since I last lived here). It is like they raided my browser history and came up with the perfect cafe for me. It is full of knitting, tea, stuff that belongs on Pinterest and delicious things to eat.

107. 24th August. I got to the Vic market just in time to get some kale as the last stalls were closing for the day.

108. 25th August. Kale. I love this stuff. I would eat it every day if I could. And at the moment, seeing as I have ready access to kale and no one to please but myself, I *am* eating it every day. Tonight I made kale chips.

108a. 25th August. Reason number 34 why I shouldn't live alone. Because when I think to myself "I wonder if I can cut my own hair?" There is nobody to say me, "No."

Dorothy the Dinosaur eating coriander

101. 18th August 2012. I invited several people from Melbourne for lunch on Saturday and it rained solidly all day until about 20 minutes after they left. I took a photo as proof.

102. 19th August 2012. I almost forgot to take a photo on Sunday, so you get Dorothy the Dinosaur eating coriander. And Brad helping with our artistic endeavours.

103. 20th August 2012. I am really flagging on this whole photo taking business. I seem to be always in the same three places at the moment.

104. 21st August 2012. My housemate got one of those painless migraines where your vision goes all wonky. I had one once, mine came with smell hallucinations. Lasagne and wet paint. At any rate. I drove her to Kyneton to go to the optometrist and took the opportunity while we were there to get a shot of the Kyneton, um, statue.

Punch Brothers

89. Monday 6th August 2012. North Carlton, on the way to the Punch Brothers concert.

It was such an amazing concert. Couldn't believe how much talent was up there on the stage.

90. 7th August 2012. This day was so awesome it needs four photos of its very own. So, here we have:

Brunswick, heading home the morning after the Punch Brothers.

Spencer Street. Seconds before I discovered that they were running the trains to Woodend again after a week and a bit of buses.

Bendigo. Banjo lesson. A happy place.

A pretty accurate representation of how banjo lessons make me feel.

91. 8th August 2012. Woodend - quite early.

92. 9th August 2012. North Melbourne Station - the dread myki.

 82. 30th July 2012. Sunset, Woodend.

 83. 31st July 2012. Nearly sunset, Kangaroo Flat. Today was the last day to buy the Drago trip from Anchorage to Usuaia. Also the last day to apply to teach in Bhutan next year. It took some effort, but I managed to restrain myself from doing either. And I got my little car back from the mechanic (I am noting here that I think they did something to the speaker in the driver seat door, but I don't know what, or how to fix it). And I had a banjo lesson. All in all, a very good day.

 84. 1st August 2012. I am starting to struggle with this daily photo thing. I think I need to get out more. This whole working extra days/hours means that I am not going any where or seeing new things.

R.M.Williams

77. Wednesday 25th July. Carlton.

I have been thinking a lot about other options than my car. I love my little car, but the doors are leaking and the mechanics (I've asked more than one) can't work out why. There was a little problem with the fuel spilling out if I filled it more than 3/4s full. It turned out that the fuel tank had warped (and split something important) and a new one had to be sent from France.

Then a fortnight ago I was driving on the freeway in the pouring rain and I hit a giant pot hole. The plastic hub cap thing popped off and the rim is dented. I took it in to get checked, but the guy who checked didn't notice that the brakes were broken. I found that out myself when I was driving about Bendigo yesterday. So now I am waiting for new brakes.  Hopefully in time for me to drive to my banjo lesson next Tuesday.

 78. 26th July. Woodend. I accidentally went into R.M.Williams in the city on Monday and they were having a sale and they had one pair of these left and they were in my size and 50% off and it was a sign and now I own my second pair of riding boots. Am I too afraid to wear them yet? Yes, sir.

 79. 27th July. Melbourne Uni. Rain.

 80. 28th July. Woodend. Flooding.
